The liberalization of the visa regime with the EU is a much expected event for all Albanians. We long to be free to travel. Well, looks like things are moving up, but it will still be up to our government fulfilling all the EU requirements, including biometric identity cards and the fighting of organized crime, and more.
An article by on Balkan Travellers said: Next year will be a decisive one for the liberalisation of the EU’s visa regime for Albanian citizens, national media reported today, citing Foreign Minister Lulzim Basha. Read the rest of the article on their website here.

3As an Albanian citizen I really hope Albania could very soon be member of the EU but from the other hand this scares me because I believe in a gradual progress instead of a quick entrance in the European family. Albania, unfortunately, has to fight the corruption, which it seems not only to be one of the first obstacles but has not disappeared at all (as I could see this summer) and being still in a complete transition is far from the European requirements.

4It is a welcomed news and it will certainly benefit the Albanian people. No more forgery, no more bribery, no more ilegal migration. Only a just and legal way for Albanians to migrate to the rest of EU.
But like the person before me pointed out, there is still a long way to go for Albania to meet the EU Standards, the first being the elimination of corruption. Saying that, I personally think the Government is at least (reluctantly) working for the people.
Lets hope that the news of a possible forthcoming Visa Liberation for Albania is a good insentive for the Government, politicians and the general public alike to work together towards a brighter future of our country.

6Hi, I am happy to find this blog.
I am writing this from Tokyo, Japan.
From this October, I am in charge of projects for Albania in an agency
where I am working.
It is difficult to know about this country in Japan.
There are few news on Albania here…
So through this blog, I would like to lean it.

8Hi, thank you for your message.
I have visited Albania this month for 5 days.
It was quite interesting.
5 days are too short to understand a country, but now
I have some idea on it.
I am happy to hear you are interested in my country(^^)

15The ID card is pretty much obligatory for all, but she can do that when she travels back to Albania.
