Wasting time getting your new ID card

Being respectable citizens, recently, my parents and I went to apply for our own identification cards at the local municipality office. Due to the fact that I may be traveling at the end of the month, I wanted to make sure that I would not encounter any last moment difficulties with the airport authorities as per a government announcement which says that people may be asked to show proof that they have applied or receive their ID card before traveling abroad.

The application process itself was relatively easy and with no misunderstandings. When they asked for my cell number I got a little curious as to the reason why, to which they kindly replied that it would be necessary in case they had to contact me with regard to my application.

However, time wise, the waiting process took two whole hours in line and to me that was a major waist of time. Moreover, as to the process of preparing and distributing the ID cards, which is supposed to take only two weeks, according to the officials at the municipality office, would take one whole month.

As I reconsider this experience, I realized that the time I waited in line, could have been shorter if I would have gone there during the day, instead of in the evening, which is when most people are able to go because they work during the day.
